This post is completely off the cuff, never written about before, and not getting mentioned in my book. I have only told a few people about it, and only chose to write about it now because I considered it not of importance enough to writtenly document before

I have, and always will, pedestalize the creatures above me. I have always been in awe knowing that there are beings that know more than me. Minus a massive comet that was completely on fire above my head while riding my bicycle to the store last year, this is my only story:

I was twenty-one years old (2004), and living at the time, in my moms old house on Smithfield Farm Lane. The property was owned by Dr. Smith (no relation) in Hagerstown MD. He managed the development, rented out the land, and provided a semi-HOA agreement with the tenants. My wife at the time, and I moved into my moms house, as a rental, while she moved to a different part of the city, so that we could start raising our family.

It was likely around 9-11pm when I went outside for a cigarette. I came down the three steps off of my front porch and stepped into the driveway. I don’t believe I was on the gravel for longer than three to five seconds before my attention pulled to the direction of Dr. Smith’s house. His residence was approximately 1/2 – 3/4 mile (straight distance) from my house. There was a peachish-orangish light above his barn and traveling to my direction. I had no energy (for lack of a better word) to move or speak as it traveled over my head. I estimate that its distance above me to maybe 100-150ft. The shape was oval, but mostly circular, made ZERO noise, and was traveling about 30-40mph. The object did not contain any other lights, except that only light the entire craft put off. The width was about the size of a school bus and a half, maybe 60-80 ft. My eyes did not leave the object, except to blink a few times, making sure I was actually seeing something that I never encountered before. It continued at the same altitude and speed as it went behind my house above the wooded area in my back yard. I was completely speechless, and felt numb for several hours afterward. I don’t believe I even told my wife at the time until the next day. I couldn’t take a picture because I didn’t own a cell phone at the time (I was broke), but I had a turn-wheel Kodak camera in the house, but in a state of ‘blankness’, I couldn’t move or think. The only thing I could equate the feeling to is when you just turn on an old television set or the static energy you feel when surrounded by emf, like in an electronics classroom.

Maybe I’ll do a post of the comet that I encountered soon. It was equally impressive, kind of terrifying, and humbling knowing how small I really am
